Karl Rove: This Is About More Than Jonathan Gruber

November 17, 2014

Karl Rove says the White House hopes media coverage will continue to be about Jonathan Gruber as a person rather than the truths revealed in his comments.

"They're going to probably make this about Gruber," Rove said Monday on Fox and Friends. "But we ought not to let it be about Gruber."

Rove cited various empty promises made during the push to pass Obamacare and to woo the American people, like the "If you like your plan, you can keep it."

"Every single major promise used to sell the Affordable Care Act has turned out to be wrong and more importantly, everybody--health economists and others knew it was wrong at the time," Rove said.
