New Ad Targets Braley's National Security Record

October 13, 2014

The National Republican Senatorial Committee released a new ad Monday targeting Congressman Bruce Braley (D., Iowa) for his inconsistent record on authorizing use of force against the Islamic State.

The ad draws attention to Braley's certifiably false statement that he voted to "give the president limited authority to begin strikes" on IS in Syria when, in fact, no vote on the authorization of airstrikes was held.

Furthermore, the ad points out that Braley voted against funding combat operations in Iraq in June 2014, shortly before IS declared a caliphate in Iraq and Syria.

"Bruce Braley isn't telling you the truth," the ad said. "If Bruce Braley can't tell the truth on national security, how can we trust him on anything else?"
