Sen. Mark Udall (D., Colo.) is failing to distance himself from the Obama administration, despite claiming he is the "last person" President Obama wants to see "coming up the front lawn."
"The White House, when they look down the front law, the last person they want to see coming is me," Udall said during a recent Senate debate.
MSNBC’s Morning Joe questioned the senator on his ties to Obama on Thursday, saying Udall is one of the only lawmakers to have golfed with the president.
But Udall affirmed he is definitely a "thorn" in the Obama administration’s side.
"Over the last six months I’ve been a thorn in their side on the NSA, on the VA, on the CIA--they haven’t always been happy to take my calls over there," Udall said.
Udall trails opponent Rep. Cory Gardner in Colorado, where President Obama has a staggering 54 percent disapproval rating.
