Politico reports on a new study that finds there is "Little Scientific Evidence" to support the claim that shale gas operations contaminate underground drinking water.
The outlet writes that "despite the attention the issue has gotten in the news media, University of Texas researchers said in a report published Thursday" that the claims can not be verified. "They also found that state enforcement of rules governing hydraulic fracturing is ‘highly variable,’ and that news coverage of fracking is overwhelmingly negative."
