Fox News contributor Brit Hume warned the Obama administration's foreign policy could be on the verge of "collapse" Tuesday on Special Report.
From Syria, to the Palestinian and Israeli peace talks, to the crisis in Ukraine "nothing is coming up the way it was supposed to," Hume said.
The Fox News contributor blamed many of the issues facing the White House on an uncooperative Russia, which has been only exacerbated by Putin's invasion of Crimea.
"A lot of it Shannon, is because the administration's concept of how we were going to deal with issues like Syria and Iran in particular, were dependent on a cooperative relationship with Russia. Now, obviously, if that's in doubt, that pulls the pin out of it, and there's trouble everywhere. That's how it's shaping up."
Further complicating the matter for President Obama, Hume contended it will be very difficult for the United States or Europe to force Russian cooperation as escalating sanctions comes with difficult costs for all nations involved.
"It won't be easy for the United States with its relationship with Russia and what it needs from Russia to impose very harsh sanctions on Russia. It's even harder for the Europeans, whose economies are much more intertwined with Russia's than ours is. This poses an immense challenge for this president, and it's not at all evident from what's happened so far that he's in any position to meet it. He doesn't seem to move the allies on this, nor has his Secretary of State at all."
