President Obama is scheduled to give a speech at North Carolina State University- Raleigh on Wednesday and will likely garner a large crowd, but one of his top supporters, Sen. Kay Hagan (D-NC), will not be in attendance.
A spokesperson for Hagan said that the Senate will be in session in DC that day and thus prevent her from being present at the President’s speech in her home state.
A likely reason for Hagan’s absence at the President’s event is because she is currently in a difficult race for reelection. Her Republican opponents have slammed Obamacare and its disastrous rollout. Hagan has staunchly supported Obamacare and is taking heat for it in the reelection polls.
