Sen. John McCain (R., Ariz.) called Dennis Rodman an "idiot" for traveling to North Korean embracing their leader Kim Jong Un Tuesday on Piers Morgan.
McCain said on the one hand Rodman's antics are almost comical, but the former NBA star is providing Kim Jong Un a propaganda outlet to "enhance his prestige with his people."
On Rodman's Kenneth Bae comments, McCain again emphasized the dichotomy between possible implications of Rodman's actions.
"In one respect it's kind of a sideshow with a guy that's not too bright that's looking for something to do," McCain said. "But when we're talking about an American that's being held prisoner in God knows what conditions and he is basically defending him, that's pretty bad behavior."
