Facing multiple accusations of plagiarism, Sen. Rand Paul (R., Ky.) fired back on ABC's This Week that if dueling were legal in Kentucky, the challenges against his good name would constitute a "duel challenge."
"There are times when it's been sloppy or not correct or we made an error, but the difference is, I take it as an insult," Paul said. "I will not lie down and say people can call me dishonest, misleading or misrepresenting. I have never intentionally done so. Like I say, if dueling were legal in Kentucky if they keep it up, it'd be a duel challenge. But I can't do that, because I can't hold office in Kentucky again."
Paul added that it's often hard to footnote all remarks in speeches accurately and 98 percent of his speeches are extemporaneous.
