Last week, Virginia Democrat Terry McAuliffe called his Republican gubernatorial opponent Glenn Youngkin's attacks on critical race theory a "racist dog whistle." On Monday, Youngkin said he would not be "lectured" by a candidate allied with Gov. Ralph Northam (D., Va.), who appeared in a yearbook photo that featured blackface.
"I'm not going to be lectured by a guy on race who ... called for Governor Northam's resignation when he wore blackface, and then turned around and accepted his endorsement and campaigns with him," Youngkin said.
