Former Obama aides cash in, will help sell the Chicago Cubs' plan for Wrigley renovation

The Chicago Cubs have hired two former top Obama campaign aides to help push the club's renovation plan for Wrigley Field.

The team has retained the services of 270 Strategies, according to Crain's Chicago. The Chicago consulting firm counts among its founders former Obama national field director Jeremy Bird and battleground states director Mitch Stewart. The firm specializes in grassroots work.

Bird and Stewart are just two of many former Obama campaign and administration officials who have entered the private sector and cashed in, particularly since the president's reelection.

Those former officials have launched a variety of corporate and advisory roles, as well as plum speaking gigs, as covered by the New Republic last month.
