The White House has hired Hogan Gidley as President Donald Trump's new deputy press secretary.
Gidley will work with White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders. He used to be the press secretary for her father Mike Huckabee's presidential campaign, CNN reports.
Gidley used to also work as the executive director of the South Carolina Republican Party and as an aide to Rick Santorum, another former presidential candidate.
The position has been vacant since Huckabee Sanders became the new press secretary, succeeding Sean Spicer after he resigned in July.
Gidley will begin his new job on Wednesday.
