Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R.) condemned Planned Parenthood Tuesday after video surfaced of the organization’s top doctor discussing the sale of body parts from aborted babies.

Captured by the non-profit organization Center for Medical Progress, the undercover video appears to show senior director of medical services at Planned Parenthood Federation of America Dr. Deborah Nucatola talking about selling parts of aborted fetuses over lunch.

Perry in a statement Tuesday labeled the footage "a disturbing reminder of the organization's penchant for profiting off the tragedy of a destroyed human life."

"It is because of stories like this that I signed legislation defunding Planned Parenthood in the state of Texas -- to protect human life and the health and safety of Texans," Perry, a Republican presidential candidate, continued.

Nucatola is shown in the video touting the sales of heart, liver and other organs.

"We’ve been very good at getting heart, lung, liver, because we know that, so I’m not gonna crush that part, I’m gonna basically crush below, I’m gonna crush above, and I’m gonna see if I can get it all intact," she says, according to footage published by pro-life group Live Action.

"I’d say a lot of people want liver," the doctor continues. "And for that reason, most providers will do this case under ultrasound guidance, so they’ll know where they’re putting their forceps."

Planned Parenthood has collected $27.8 million from taxpayers this year, a Washington Free Beacon analysis showed.
