A controversial MSNBC guest who sparked a fierce backlash after he accused Louisiana Republican Gov. Bobby Jindal of "trying to scrub some of the brown off his skin" is also a donor to President Barack Obama, according to political contribution records.
Arsalan Iftikhar, an attorney and member of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), caused a stir on Monday when he made comments many interpreted as racist during an interview with newsreader Alex Wagner.
Iftikhar donated at least $250 dollars to Obama in 2004, according to Open Secrets, which tracks political contributions. Iftikhar listed his occupation as "CAIR" on the records.
MSNBC told Mediaite that it would not have Iftikhar back on as a guest.
"We found this guest’s comments offensive and unacceptable and we don’t plan on inviting him back," a MSNBC spokesperson told Mediaite.
