United States Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley lost two of her top aides this week, both due to "family concerns."
Haley confirmed the resignations of chief of staff Steven Groves and communications director Jonathan Wachtel on Twitter Wednesday, Bloomberg reports.
The resignations came before Haley's trip to Vienna to discuss Iranian nuclear activity.
Groves previously worked at the Heritage Foundation, and has been advocating for the United States to pull out of the U.N. Human Rights Council because of its anti-Israel stance.
Wachtel spent nearly two decades at Fox News as a producer and journalist before working for Haley. He also used to work for ABC News and Worldwide Television news in London and Moscow.
"Both Jonathan & Steve have recently encountered family concerns," Haley said. "They will always be a part of the team [and] dear friends."
