A Wisconsin giraffe defended his property when he lodged his hooves firmly into a 24 year-old California woman’s face. That was before he gave her visage a hearty lick because the only thing giraffes hate more than intruders is scuffed up kicks.

A police report says 24-year-old Amada Hall, of San Luis Obispo, California, climbed over one fence and almost got over the second fence encircling the giraffe enclosure at the Henry Vilas Zoo about 5:30 p.m. Saturday. A 2-year-old, 12-foot-tall giraffe named Wally gave Hall a lick, then turned and kicked her in the face.
Aside from a nasty shiner and a fine, Hall had to feel pretty good about herself as giraffes are capable of killing lions with their hind kicks. Hall told police the reason she tempted fate was she loves giraffes.
$686 is a pretty cheap fee for an everlasting memory.
