The U.S. Secret Service arrested South Carolinian Alicia Keppler for attempting to break into the White House grounds on July 4 for the second year in a row.
Keppler was arrested early Tuesday morning while running along the south fence line of the White House. Keppler scaled a bike rack and security barrier, according to reports obtained by NBC Washington.
The Secret Service officer said Keppler refused to identify herself after her arrest and was not carrying identification.
Last year's trespassing case was dismissed when Keppler agreed to enter a diversion program and was ordered to undergo mental health services.
Keppler was also arrested for unlawfully attempting to enter the grounds during the March 2016 White House Easter Egg Roll. During that encounter, Keppler approached the appointment gate claiming to have an appointment and ignoring orders to step back.
Many similar cases exist of people attempting multiple times to trespass White House grounds. In most cases, people are subject to mental health screenings.
