McAuliffe Blames His Own Employees For GreenTech's Failures

Blames Engineers For His Broken Promises on Jobs

Terry McAuliffe’s, time as head of the electric car company GreenTech appears to be a serious liability, in his pursuit to become Virginia’s next governor. In an interview with WWBT, McAuliffe blames GreenTech’s shortcomings on the people who worked for him.

MCAULIFFE: We can only say what the engineers tell us to say; sometimes they don’t get it right. But that’s okay.

In 2009, McAuliffe promised that GreenTech would bring 1,500 jobs to the United States. He then decided to bring the company’s operations to Mississippi instead of Virginia. However, the company created just 78 jobs.
