Graham: 'The North Koreans Are Overplaying Their Hands'

'The North loses and the South wins with our help, that's what happens'

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R., S.C.) did not mince words regarding the recent belligerent rhetoric and actions by North Korea against South Korea and the United States on "Meet the Press" Sunday, saying they were going to "pay a heavy price" if they took military action.

"[The South Koreans] are not going to put up with this anymore," Graham said. "I think the North Koreans are overplaying their hands. I'm glad we're not doing the ballistic missile test. I'm glad we're telling our allies South Korea and Japan, we literally have your back, and the North Koreans need to understand, if they attack an American interest or an ally of this country they're going to pay a heavy price."

Graham said there has been a shift in the public mood in South Korea, saying "the whole region is fed up with this guy." If a war were to take place and the U.S. were to step in, the result would be predictable, he added.

"The North loses and the South wins with our help, that's what happens," Graham said.
