A new video shows a convoy of Islamic State fighters getting destroyed by U.S. helicopters as they tried to flee the city of Fallujah.
Fox News reported at least 250 ISIS terrorists were killed. Iraqi forces recaptured Fallujah this week after it had been controlled by ISIS forces for more than two years.
The Libertarian Republic reports:
The video allegedly shows the assault from the perspective of an attack helicopter gun camera. It shows a convoy of what are said to be dozens of ISIS vehicles fleeing the Iraqi city of Fallujah as Iraqi Security Forces (ISF) closed in.
As the vehicles drove down the long, narrow road, they made themselves easy pickings for the attack helicopters, which peppered them with rocket, missile and cannon fire. The latter portion of the video shows ISF soldiers examining the mangled remains of the convoy after the attack.
ISF, supported by U.S. and coalition forces, engaged in a several week-long siege of Fallujah, eventually seizing the city last week. Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi officially declared victory while visiting the city Sunday.
Note: This article earlier referred to the helicopters as Iraqi. This has been corrected.
