New Obamacare Glitch to Make Tax Time 'More Complicated' for Nearly a Million Taxpayers

February 20, 2015

Nearly a million taxpayers who are part of the Obamacare system received incorrect tax information from the government. The government is now asking those people to wait to file their 2014 taxes, and for those who already filed to resubmit their returns.

Administration officials are unsure how this error occurred and have marked it up as a glitch. Nearly a million people were supposed to receive a form file with their taxes, which determines how much in taxes they have paid.

The 800,000 taxpayers affected live in the 37 states that use the federal exchange and the 100,000 in California. Officials are following up with emails and phone calls to those affected and telling them to wait to file their taxes.
