Extreme Makeover: Islamic State Bunker Edition

November 14, 2014

A video released by U.S. Central Command on Friday shows an American airstrike decimating an Islamic State bunker in Iraq.

The strike, carried out on Election Day, destroyed the IS stronghold near Bayji, Iraq and left little more than a pile of rubble.

Unfortunately, U.S. and coalition airstrikes have done little to stop IS killing sprees across Iraq and Syria, according to Jane’s Terrorism and Insurgency Centre.

According to the Institute for the Study of War, recent airstrikes near Bayji—which serves as a "central corridor" for IS—could isolate the terror group’s area of military operation.
