Economist Mark Zandi, a registered Democrat and Obama supporter, saw his rosy job creation predictions fall short once again on Friday.
The Moody’s economist predicted that figures from the Bureau of Labor Statistics would show that the U.S. economy added 210,000 jobs in August. In fact, BLS said payrolls increased by just 142,000.
Zandi, a supporter of President Barack Obama’s economic policies, has previously been forced to eat crow after his optimistic economic predictions failed to pan out.
Friday’s jobs numbers were so lackluster even MSNBC guests appeared unimpressed.
"It’s a disappointment—a big one," said CNBC host Sarah Eisen on Morning Joe.
