Dems 'Twist In Knots' To Not Be Seen With Unpopular Obama

September 2, 2014

It’s getting increasingly lonely at the top for President Obama as Democrats are straining themselves to not be seen publicly with a president who’s approval numbers have cratered.

CNN used an anecdote on how Mary Burke, the Democratic challenger to Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R.), stiffed the president out in public yesterday when he dropped by for a Labor Day rally in Milwaukee.

"Some of these Democrats are twisting themselves in knots trying to figure out what the right thing to do is. Do you appear with him or do you not? (Burke) tried to split the difference, she didn’t appear with him in front of cameras, but she had a private meeting with him," AP Reporter Julie Pace said.
