Chief Deputy Whip Peter Roskam (R., Ill.) will introduce a bill Thursday to keep track of the $1.8 trillion that will be spent on Obamacare in the next 10 years, Fox News reports.
"ObamaCare as a program goes across all sorts of federal agencies and commissions, and there is nobody that is really tasked with singularly tracking the entire program," the Illinois congressman told Fox News.
"America’s Newsroom" co-host Martha MacCallum brought up the fact that the Obama administration has supported oversight on lesser spending such as Iraq, Afghanistan, TARP, and Gulf coast relief.
"This is a reasonable approach," Roskam told MacCallum. "It's modeling on what other special inspector generals have done and it's applying it to a program that dwarfs them by comparison—$1.8 trillion."
"It's a highly political administration that's clearly making decisions in part based on their political agenda... and I think enough is enough. Let's get to the bottom of it."
