Congressman Tom Cotton (R-AR) responded to comments made by his Senate opponent, incumbent Mark Pryor (D-AR), in which Pryor said Cotton’s military service led Cotton to a "sense of entitlement".
"I didn’t leave a good law job to join the Army out of a sense of entitlement. I left because I wanted to serve my country," Cotton said on "Fox and Friends" Thursday. "I believe we’re the greatest country on earth and I want to protect our freedom. That’s why I wanted to serve in the Army and why I wanted to run for Congress.
Cotton drew the contrast between himself and Pryor, pointing out Pryor has made his whole career in politics.
"Let me tell you this," Cotton continued, "you learn a lot more about leadership at Officer Candidate School and leading troops in the streets of Baghdad than in the halls of Congress."
