President Obama took his first questions from the White House press corps in eight weeks, during a surprise appearance at the White House press briefing Monday.
As Obama exited the briefing room, one reporter called to him, "Don't be a stranger."
The president last took questions from the press corps during the G-20 summit in Cabo, Mexico, and last held a press conference in March.
In the meantime, however, Obama has fielded questions like, "What would your super power be, if you were a super hero?" from local radio station KOBFM in New Mexico, as well as questions from People Magazine and "Entertainment Tonight."
Obama deputy campaign manager Stephanie Cutter defended the president's refusal to take questions from mainstream outlets in an interview with CNN's "State of the Union" Sunday, saying People is "equally important" as the White House press corps.
