This evening on Special Report, Bret Baier did a segment on Jay Carney’s ability to dodge reporter’s questions. The segmented referred often to a Yahoo News article from last Friday.
BRET BAIER: And now some fresh pickings, from the political grapevine, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney admits he does not have all of the answers. After nearly 450 briefings, Carney has had considerable experience answering reporters' questions, but he also perfected what "The Washington Post" refers to as the art of the dodge. Yahoo news identified thirteen distinct types of dodge in carney's 9486 non-answers, not counting today's briefing. 1905 times he said, "I don't have the answer." 1383 times said "I would refer you to someone else:. 1125 times, "you already know the answer." Carney also frequently won't speculate, we'll get back to you, thinks it is a good question, and appreciates the question.
