First Lady Michelle Obama told supporters attending a Hillary Clinton rally on Wednesday that they need to choose between two very different visions for president because there is no such thing as a perfect candidate.
Obama spoke at a Clinton campaign rally at La Salle University in Philadelphia. The first lady spoke to the audience, touting the Democratic nominee’s accomplishments and encouraging them to get out and vote.
"Remember, it’s not about voting for the perfect candidate," the first lady said in an attempt to rally more votes for Clinton.
She told the rally-goers that she is voting for Hillary Clinton because, "in this election, it’s about making a choice between two very different candidates with very different visions for our nation."
"So the question is: Do you want Hillary Clinton to be your president, or do you want her opponent to be your president," Obama said. "That is the choice in this election."
Clinton’s campaign has been struggling to overcome the controversy surrounding her use of a private email server while at the State Department. The former secretary of state has also dealt with low poll numbers regarding her honesty and trustworthiness.
