Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber admitted to the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee that Obamacare contained tax hikes, contradicting the Obama administration's narrative that it was not a tax.
When Congressman Mike Turner (R., Ohio) pressed Gruber on the issue of Obamacare taxes, the former health care adviser--under oath--conceded that the unpopular health care law included "some taxes."
"Obamacare is a large piece of legislation with many parts," Gruber began.
"And is one of those parts a tax, Mr. Gruber?" Turner asked.
"There are some taxes in Obamacare, yes," Gruber said.
When Turner pointed out that the U.S. Supreme Court had concluded that Obamacare's individual mandate was a tax, Gruber said he disagreed with the ruling.
"I don't agree with their conclusion about the mandate," Gruber said.
