Whoopi Goldberg Suggests Obama Faced Worse Media Bias Than Trump

Co-host of ABC's "The View" Whoopi Goldberg on Thursday responded to President Donald Trump's recent complaint about the media by suggesting that former President Barack Obama faced worse treatment than Trump during his time in office.

Trump made his comments while delivering a commencement address at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in Connecticut on Wednesday. "Look at the way I have been treated lately. Especially by the media. No politician in history, and I say this with great surety, has been treated worse or more unfairly," Trump said.

A clip of Trump's remarks played before Goldberg made her response.

"I did want to point out — and there have been a couple who have been perhaps treated more unfairly or as unfairly. Let's talk about, I don't know, Barack Obama," Goldberg said on Thursday.

Goldberg cited Trump claiming that Obama wasn't born in the United States as evidence that the former president faced poor treatment.

"I make this point specifically about this man who, for almost six years, seven years, insisted he wasn't an American, didn't have America's best values in mind because he wasn't born here. That he was a Muslim. All propagated by this guy, and so I figure, you have been in less than — maybe what, 120 days? And you think it's rough now?" Goldberg asked.

Goldberg went on to say that Obama, despite facing criticism, came out of his presidency as someone that she was "proud of." She also suggested that Trump might not have a good idea about which presidents were treated the worst, because "he doesn't know a lot about history."

Newsbusters noted several instances when journalists complimented Obama, calling him a "rock-star," "just perfect," "handsome" and "so confident."
