Trump: Did Clinton Write Khan's DNC Speech Attacking Me?

Donald Trump attacked Khizr Khan, the father of a fallen soldier from a Muslim immigrant family, on ABC's This Week on Sunday.

Khan gave an emotional speech to the Democratic National Convention Thursday night where he called out Trump for his proposed ban on Muslims. He said that the presidential candidate has sacrificed nothing for his country.

"Well, that sounds– who wrote that?" Trump asked. "Did Hillary's script writers write it?"

Trump said that Khan was very emotional but still looked like a nice guy and wished him the best. He also pointed out that Khan's wife was on stage next to him, but did not say anything. He insinuated that she was not allowed to say anything.

"If you look at this wife, she was standing there, she had nothing to say," Trump said. "She probably– maybe she wasn't allowed to have anything to say. You tell me."

He justified his answer by saying that "a lot of people" were saying the same thing.

When asked what Trump would have said to the grieving father he replied that the world has had a lot of issues with radical Islamic terror. He then said a majority of the terror attacks that had happened within the past year.

Khan defended his wife's silence and said that it was too painful for her to speak about her son's death.

The Khan's son, Humayun Khan, was an Army captain who had died in a 2004 car bombing in Iraq. He was 27 years old when he died saving the rest of his troop.
