Over a quarter of Europeans profess anti-Semitic beliefs, according to a survey recently released by the Anti-Defamation League.

The survey consisted of questions like whether "Jews have too much power in the business world" and the international financial market. It also asked if Jewish people are more loyal to Israel than they are to the country in which they live. The study revealed that a substantial portion of Europeans agreed with those statements.

The responses reveal that anti-Semitic sentiment continues in much of Europe. The ADL reported that 64 percent of Polish participants said "Jews still talk too much" about the Holocaust. Over 40 percent of Austrians and Germans also agreed with that statement.

Anti-Semitic views among Germans have decreased since 2015. However, nearly half of Germans still question whether Jews feel more loyalty to Israel than to Germany.

ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt said the results were "deeply concerning," and attributed them to a lack of knowledge among European populations.

"These findings serve as a powerful wake-up call that much work remains to be done to educate broad swaths of the populations in many of these countries to reject bigotry, in addition to addressing the pressing security needs where violent incidents are rising," Greenblatt said.
