Jane Sanders: ‘It Would Be Nice’ If FBI Sped Up Clinton Email Investigation

Bernie Sanders’ wife Jane lamented the slow pace of the FBI investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server as secretary of state Thursday.

"It would be nice if the FBI moved it along," Sanders said.

Despite wishing the probe would come to a close, Sanders said that her husband’s campaign did not want to comment on the investigation or politicize it.

"What we said right from the beginning … right after the debate, where he said ‘enough of your damn emails,’ he also said, there's a process," Sanders said, referring to an October Democratic debate in which Bernie Sanders said that the American people were fed up with hearing about Clinton’s email scandal.

Sanders’ wife emphasized that the investigation was ongoing.

"It’s going forward. It’s an FBI investigation. We want to let it go through without politicizing it, and then we’ll find out what the situation is," she said.

Though Bernie Sanders has criticized Clinton for her ties to Wall Street and fossil fuels, he has abstained from going after her on the email scandal.

"I am trying to stay away from personal attacks on Hillary," Sanders said in April."How often have I talked about Hillary Clinton's emails? Not one word. How often have I talked about the Clinton Foundation fundraising?"

Clinton is currently under FBI investigation for her use of a homebrew server to transmit classified information as secretary of state. The State Department has deemed 22 of the emails on her server "Top Secret."

Clinton has insisted that "there was nothing prohibiting" her use of the server. Her campaign has also dubbed the high quantity of emails marked classified "overclassifcation run amok."

Despite Clinton’s claims, the State Department Inspector General, Intelligence Community Inspector General, the State Department’s Bureau of Diplomatic Security, and the House Select Committee on Benghazi are also probing Clinton’s use of a home-brew server, in addition to the FBI.
