Fox News Host Kimberly Guilfoyle Leaves Network

Fox News’ "The Five" co-host Kimberly Guilfoyle unexpectedly left the network on Friday.

The news was confirmed by a Fox News statement.

"Fox News has parted ways with Kimberly Guilfoyle," the statement read. The statement didn't give the reason for Guilfoyle's exit.

While it is unclear why Guilfoyle left the network, reports say it had to do with her relationship with Donald Trump Jr., President Donald Trump's oldest son. Guilfoyle put the network and her colleagues in a difficult situation as many of the stories she discussed on "The Five" involved the president, creating a conflict of interest.

Fox News media reporter Howard Kurtz suggested Guilfoyle's exit was not cordial.

"Kimberly Giulfoyle will not be back on the air at Fox. The one-sentence statement by the network suggests to me that this was a difficult parting," Kurtz tweeted.

Guilfoyle will hit the campaign trail with Trump Jr., and she has taken a job with the pro-Trump group America First Policies, CNN reported:

Two people familiar with Guilfoyle's plans told CNN that she will join Trump Jr. on the campaign trail for the 2018 midterm elections. She was at a campaign event this week.

One of the people familiar with Guilfoyle's plans said she would likely take a job at America First Policies, a non-profit organization that works to support President Trump's agenda. The second person familiar with the matter said that donors for the group had been actively trying to recruit her.

In 2017, Guilfoyle was in talks to join the Trump administration as press secretary.
