Millionaire Dem Congressional Candidate Doesn’t Own Single Property in District Where He’s Running

Florida Democrat Randy Perkins, who is running for Congress in Florida’s 18th district, owns two multi-million dollar homes in the state along with numerous properties managed through his business, though none are located in the district he’s seeking to represent.

Perkins, whose net worth is reportedly an estimated $200 million but could be higher based on his financial disclosure statement, owns a home worth $15.8 million located in Delray Beach, Florida, some 25 miles south of the southernmost part of the 18th district. His $3 million vacation home in the Keys, meanwhile, is roughly 150 miles away from the 18th district’s southernmost area.

Both houses have five bedrooms and four full bathrooms compared to his three bedroom, two-and-a-half-bathroom rental property in the 18th district that is valued at $508,000, nearly $15.2 million less than the home Perkins lives in full-time.

Perkins listed the rental home as his voting address in February so that he would be eligible to vote in the district he’s running in, according to Florida public records. His campaign did not immediately respond to questions regarding whether Perkins would commit to live in the rental home full-time should he win the House seat in November.

The Democratic candidate also owns a $2.5 million ski vacation home in Park City, Utah.

The latest polling in the district released last month showed Perkins virtually tied with his Republican opponent Brian Mast, an Army veteran who lost both of his legs in combat.
