Trump Pledges ‘I Will Never Abolish Our Heroes From ICE’

President Donald Trump knocked Democrats who have called to "abolish ICE" during his State of the Union address Tuesday.

Trump took time to remember the lives of those killed by illegal immigrants in his speech and took a shot at Democrats, such as New York Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and New York Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, who have campaigned on abolishing Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

For Gillibrand, it was one of the promises she's made to court the left in her 2020 presidential bid, while Ocasio-Cortez ran on a far-left platform as a democratic socialist.

Trump stated support for ICE is a matter of backing law enforcement.

"We will always support the brave men and women of law enforcement, and I pledge to you tonight that I will never abolish our heroes from ICE. Thank you," he said, gesturing toward ICE special agent Elvin Hernandez.

Trump had declared Hernandez a hero for his work rescuing trafficking victims and putting their captors behind bars.

"Elvin says that if I can make sure these young girls get their justice, I’ve really done my job," Trump said.

Trump expressed sympathy for those dubbed angel families, who have suffered the loss of family members to violence by illegal immigrants.

"Year after year, countless Americans are murdered by criminal illegal aliens," Trump said. "I have gotten to know many wonderful angel moms and dads and families. No one should ever have to suffer the horrible heartache that they have had to endure."

He named Debra Bissell and her daughter and granddaughter, who had to suffer the loss of their Debra’s parents, who were in their 80s.

"Not one more American life should be lost because our nation failed to control its very dangerous border," Trump said. "In the last two years, our brave ICE officers made 266,000 arrests of criminal aliens, including those charged or convicted of nearly 100,000 assaults, 30,000 sex crimes, and 4,000 killings or murders."
