Frederica Wilson: 'I Have My Own Intelligence' on Niger Ambush

Democratic Rep. Frederica Wilson (Fla.) said Monday that she has her "own intelligence" regarding the deaths of four U.S. Green Berets in Niger last year, although she did not expand on what that meant.

Wilson has called for a congressional investigation into the deadly ambush that claimed the life of her constituent Sgt. La David Johnson and three others, in addition to the probe being conducted by the Pentagon. CNN host Poppy Harlow asked the congresswoman why that probe on Capitol Hill has not started yet.

"I'm not sure, but I think the Senate plans to investigate, and the House of Representatives, the Foreign Affairs Committee, and the Congressional Black Caucus ... has asked for an investigation by the Pentagon, and we feel that they are investigating," Wilson said. "We've gotten lots of evidence that they are investigating. When that investigation will be completed, I'm not sure, but I'm waiting because I have my own intelligence."

Harlow did not ask Wilson to clarify what intelligence she had.

Wilson drew national attention in October when she revealed details of a phone call between Myeshia Johnson—the widow of slain Sgt. Johnson—and President Donald Trump, accusing Trump of acting insensitively and upsetting Mrs. Johnson further.

That led to a brief feud between Wilson and the White House. Trump insisted he was respectful in the call, while Wilson called Trump a liar and at one point said she had become a "rock star" because of her war of words with the president.
