Pro-Second Amendment Parkland Survivor: CNN Canceled My Interview Because of a Tweet

Kyle Kashuv, a Parkland shooting survivor and proponent of the Second Amendment, claimed Wednesday that CNN canceled his scheduled interview with host Brooke Baldwin because he quote-tweeted a tweet that referred to Baldwin as a "fake news hypocrite."

"My friend just got a call from @CNN. They're canceling my interview because I quote RTed a Tweet where @ClayTravis called @BrookeBCNN a 'fake news hypocrite' (and was quoted in the title)," Kashuv tweeted.

The Free Beacon reached out to CNN for comment and has not received a response.

Kashuv continued to criticize CNN for canceling his interview over a tweet, and for allowing people on its network to make unchallenged incendiary comments, such as calling National Rifle Association (NRA) spokesperson Dana Loesch and NRA members child murderers, and saying that to look at Sen. Marco Rubio (R., Fla.) is like looking down the barrel of an AR-15.

The day after CNN's townhall on gun violence with Parkland survivors, CNN host Alisyn Camerota told Loesch that she had never let the NRA be characterized as "child murderers" without pushing back, but Camerota did allow that accusation to go unchallenged on her program.

"I do need to interject though, Alisyn," Loesch said. "You're saying that it's malicious, but yet on your network, you've allowed accusations against me and millions of law-abiding Americans to be indicted as child murderers. I've watched you, Alisyn, on your program at this very time slot, and you've allowed that to stand uncorrected on your network."

"It's not true. We've never called you a child murderer," Camerota responded. "We have to be fact-based."

Kashuv continued on Twitter to say it took five weeks for CNN to invite a student from the Republican side.

"It took 5 weeks for @CNN to invite a student on from the republican side. They finally invited me on and then canceled over a RT of a factual article where someone called them a 'fake news hypocrite,' Kashuv tweeted. "Don't worry, though, they're the MOST TRUSTED NAME IN NEWS!"

According to Kashuv, this is the tweet that led CNN to cancel his interview:

"Can't wait to be on Brooke's show tomorrow!," Kashuv tweeted.

The tweet leads to a Daily Wire article about sports writer Clay Travis calling Baldwin a "fake news hypocrite" because, after having claimed to be offended last year when Travis said "boobs" on her show, she asked an adult film star for "explicit details" on her relationship with President Donald Trump.
