Trump on Jemele Hill: 'ESPN Ratings Have Tanked'

President Donald Trump on Tuesday morning slammed ESPN's ratings following the announcement that network anchor Jemele Hill would be suspended for two weeks.

"With Jemele Hill at the mike, it is no wonder ESPN ratings have 'tanked,' in fact, tanked so badly it is the talk of the industry!" Trump tweeted.

Hill was suspended for two weeks after she violated the sports network's social media guidelines for the second time in the last month.

She encouraged her Twitter followers on Sunday night to boycott Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones' advertisers after he threatened to bench any players that knelt during the national anthem.

This is not the first time the Trump administration has responded to Hill. The ESPN anchor's first social media guidelines "violation" came in September after she called the president and his supporters white supremacists on Twitter.

"Donald Trump is a white supremacist who has largely surrounded himself w/ other white supremacists," Hill tweeted.

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders responded then, saying Hill's tweet against Trump last month was a "fireable offense."
