High-School Student Asks Conway to Justify Working for Trump as Woman

The 17-year-old daughter of David Corn, a liberal writer and Washington bureau chief for Mother Jones, challenged senior Donald Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway at an event Wednesday by asking her about past comments the president-elect made on sexual assault.

Conway, who was Trump's campaign manager during the latter part of his election run, spoke to a group of high school students enrolled in an Advanced Placement government class at an event sponsored by the University of Virginia's Center for Politics, the Hill reported.

After speaking, Conway took questions from the audience.

A female student proceeded to ask Conway how she, as a woman, could justify Trump's degrading comments towards women, according to Associated Press reporter Steve Peoples.

The young female later identified herself to Peoples as Maaike Laanstra-Corn, David Corn's daughter.

Conway pushed back against Corn's claims, responding, "Women are tired of the same argument and the same thing you are presenting to me right now."

Conway then told the student it is "unfortunate" that she used sexual assault as a way to make headlines.

"I'm glad that people looked at [those attacks] and said, 'You know what? That's an argument that will not create a single job in my community, not bring back a single of the 70,000 factories that have been closed, will not deter one member of ISIS from doing their bloodletting here or anywhere else in the world,'" Conway added.
