Scarborough Laughs Uncontrollably, Calls Out Media Hypocrisy Over Clinton Joining Recount Push

November 28, 2016

MSNBC's Joe Scarborough could not control his laughter Monday over Hillary Clinton joining former Green Party presidential candidate Dr. Jill Stein's push to file for a vote recount in Wisconsin.

Clinton had said during her campaign that Donald Trump's refusal to accept the outcome of the election was a threat to democracy.

"They are going to try to move this around and take what Donald Trump said–all he did was leave open the option to do exactly what Hillary Clinton is doing," Scarborough said.

Co-host Mika Brzezinski mumbled that she was getting a headache from the situation and looked visibly annoyed.

"You're giving me a headache, Joe," Brzezinski said.

Scarborough took aim at the Washington Post's Dana Milbank for calling Bloomberg's Mark Halperin "a lacky for Trump" because Halperin said that Trump had a chance to win the election.

"Has Dana Milbank now said that Hillary Clinton is now threatening to undermine democracy in the Washington Post today?" Scarborough asked.

Halperin said that he did not know if Milbank had gotten to writing the piece.

"Is democracy threatened, or is this what people do?" Scarborough asked while holding up copies of the Financial Times, Wall Street Journal and New York Times. "This is what people do in elections. Hillary Clinton is doing what people do, but when Trump even suggested it, well democracy is at risk for saying, ''I'm going to leave open my options.'"

"This, by the way, is why you are all going out of business," Scarborough added.

Brzezinski tried to move the segment along, but Scarborough said that the print media still does not get it and is being hypocritical.

Marc Elias, Clinton's election lawyer, tweeted that the campaign was being criticized for participating in an election recount that it did not ask for but was participating in.
