WATCH: 'Weaponization' Democrat Grills FBI Agent Over Anti-Pelosi Tweet in House Hearing. There's Just One Problem.

Spoiler alert: It wasn't his tweet.

A Democrat on the House's Weaponization of the Federal Government Subcommittee on Thursday falsely accused an FBI whistleblower of posting a tweet that claimed Nancy Pelosi staged the January 6 insurrection.

Rep. Linda Sánchez (D., Calif.) grilled FBI staff operations specialist Marcus Allen about a 2022 tweet that accused Pelosi of staging the insurrection. "On Dec. 5, 2022, an account under the name Marcus Allen retweeted a tweet," Sánchez began.

"That is not my account, ma'am," Allen interjected.

Nevertheless, Sánchez persisted. "You haven't let me finish the question … and the time is mine," she said. "'Nancy Pelosi staged January 6th, retweet if you agree.' Do you agree with that statement? Yes or no."

"No, ma'am, that's not my account at all," Allen said.

It’s the latest in a string of blunders for Democrats on the weaponization subcommittee. Congresswoman Stacey Plaskett (D., V.I.) last month threatened journalist Matt Taibbi with jail time over his testimony about Twitter's interactions with the FBI and other agencies. Plaskett falsely accused Taibbi of lying about the social media giant's relationship with the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency.

Allen, an Iraq War veteran, testified at the subcommittee hearing alongside two other FBI whistleblowers who have accused the bureau of targeting conservative groups. Allen said he faced retaliation at the FBI and was accused of disloyalty to the United States for allegedly promoting "conspiratorial views" about January 6. Allen said he "questioned the official narrative" of the events that day, but condemned "all criminal activity" during the insurrection.
