ANALYSIS: De Blasio's Freakish Twig Arm Raises Questions About Alleged Gym Addiction

March 18, 2021

New York City mayor Bill de Blasio, a Democrat best known for murdering a groundhog, received a COVID-19 vaccine at City Hall on Thursday. Reporter Jacob Kornbluh was on hand to document the occasion and captured a terrifying image of the mayor rolling up his sleeve while a doctor jabbed a needle into his freakishly long and pasty twig of an arm.

The disturbing photo raises some serious questions about de Blasio's abnormal 6'5" physique, especially given the mayor's alleged addiction to working out at the Prospect Park YMCA in Brooklyn.

De Blasio was widely criticized in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic for spending up to two hours "working out" at the YMCA as the virus was beginning to ravage the city. On at least one occasion, the mayor flouted lockdown orders by showing up at the gym with his security detail.

The mayor defended himself at the time, citing his need to "stay healthy so I can make the decisions for the people of this city." With gyms ordered to shut down, de Blasio promised to find a "new way" to exercise "going forward." Judging by the photo of him being vaccinated, that promise has been broken.

De Blasio's latest scandal calls to mind one of the most memorable quotes from the 2020 Democratic primary, in which the mayor participated (very briefly) as a candidate. NBC News asked readers to give their anonymous assessments of the candidates running for president, resulting in one of the finest political critiques in American history.

"Too tall to be president," an anonymous patriot wrote of de Blasio. "Come clean my roof you monster. Your giant body will never fit in Washington, D.C."
