UNDEFEATED AND UNOPPOSED … "There won't be an Arkansas Democrat challenging Sen. Cotton in 2020 election," via THV11: "After exhaustive and careful examination with our legal counsel and our party leaders and without additional information from [Josh] Mahony, the Democratic Party of Arkansas will not be able to field a candidate for the United States Senate," [DPA chairman Michael John] Gray said.

NANCY, GET CONTROL OF YOUR TROOPS … "Swing State Dem Flips on Impeachment," via NATIONAL REVIEW: Over the summer, Congresswoman Brenda Lawrence fully backed the move to impeach President Trump, but the Detroit-area Democrat said over the weekend that she has since changed her mind …

"You can censure, you don’t have to remove the president," Lawrence said Sunday on No BS News Hour with Charlie LeDuff. "Sitting here, knowing how divided this country is, I don’t see the value of kicking him out of office, but I do see the value of putting down a marker saying his behavior is not acceptable."

LATINX EMPLOYEE … "Biden’s senior Latina adviser quits in frustration," via POLITICO: Vanessa Cárdenas, the most senior Latina Biden staffer, had been serving as national coalitions director since the campaign formally announced its existence April 25. She resigned last week and has since changed her bio on Twitter to say she was "formerly with @joebiden."

Cárdenas did not return a call or text message, but two friends familiar with her thinking told POLITICO that she felt the campaign wasn’t heeding her advice on immigration as she tried to reach out to Latino groups that have had longstanding concerns with the former vice president’s rhetoric and record stemming from the Obama administration.

TOO GOOD TO CHECK … "Ilhan Omar 'Qatari asset', Florida court hears," via JERUSALEM POST: Ilhan Omar was recruited by a foreign government, received funding from a foreign government, and passed sensitive information through intermediates to Iran, a Florida court has been told. The claims came during testimony by Kuwaiti-born Canadian businessman Alan Bender, who was giving evidence in the trial of Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad al-Thani …

Omar is already found by the Minnesota Campaign Finance Board to have broken campaign finance rules, by improperly using campaign money for out-of-state travel while a state representative.

YOU SAY POTATO … "‘They are PUBLIC GOODS’: AOC says she’s not just promising people ‘free stuff’," via WASHINGTON EXAMINER: Freshman Democrat [Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (N.Y.)] claimed those in her party who believe in free-market orientated policies try to paint her policies in a negative light.

"These are public goods. They’re public goods. So I never want to hear the word or the term ‘free stuff’ ever again ... because I’m tired of already hearing some of these neoliberal folks who are trying to like flip the script on us," she explained.

PLENTY OF COMMIES TO CHOOSE FROM NOW … "Did New Hampshire Fall Out of Love With Bernie Sanders?," via NYT: Now Mr. Sanders, 78, is running on a nearly identical platform, a greatest hits catalog of his progressive policy items, many of which have been adopted by his rivals. But the magic of his 2016 New Hampshire effort hasn’t fully returned …

Four years ago, Mr. Sanders had little competition for progressive Democrats. Now he has [Elizabeth] Warren competing for voters motivated by Medicare for all, Representative Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii appealing to those who oppose foreign entanglements, and the businessman Andrew Yang cleaving away voters who want someone from outside the established political system.

SEND CONAN … "U.S. Resumes Large-Scale Operations Against ISIS in Northern Syria," via NYT: United States troops have resumed large-scale counterterrorism missions against the Islamic State in northern Syria, military officials say, nearly two months after President Trump’s abrupt order to withdraw American troops opened the way for a bloody Turkish cross-border offensive.

IN CHINA, GOVERNMENT IMPEACH PEOPLE … "China issues stern response to landslide victory of Hong Kong pro-democracy forces," via NBC NEWS: Pro-democracy forces swept Hong Kong district council elections over the weekend, boosting pressure on the city's Beijing-backed government to listen to protesters' demands for greater freedoms.

China responded sternly to the landslide in the vote widely seen as a referendum on public support for the anti-government movement. Foreign Minister Wang Yi said that no matter how the situation in Hong Kong changes, the semiautonomous region is part of China.

SIC ‘EM … "Trump jokes heroic ISIS raid dog may ‘attack’ reporters during White House ceremony," via NYDN: President Trump unleashed a new way to keep journalists in check on Monday, threatening to sic a heroic military dog on them if they dared to ask questions.

The president lobbed the tongue-in-cheek warning during a White House Rose Garden ceremony honoring Conan, the patriotic pup who helped chase down toppled ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi in Syria last month.

MSNBC CONTRIBUTOR DOUBLES AS JOY REID TRUTHER … "Malcolm Nance on the danger of conspiracy theories," via NEW YORKER: Q: But you don’t think that there was any "there there," so to speak [on Joy Reid’s blog being hacked]?

NANCE: You know what? I’m going to tell you something that I tell everybody.

Q: Please.

NANCE: I am a former cryptologist from the National Security Agency. If there is anything that I personally can assure you as an American citizen, it’s that there is nothing in this world that is digital that cannot be manipulated.

AL-SAFETY SCHOOL … "Oberlin Students Erect Memorial to Palestinian Terrorists," by WFB’s Graham Piro: Two pro-Palestine student groups, Oberlin Students for a Free Palestine and Oberlin Jewish Voice for Peace, installed the memorial to commemorate "these 34 Palestinians who died at the hands of Zionist Settler Colonialism."

A majority of the casualties in the strike were members of Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), according to the Jerusalem Post. PIJ is a part of the Alliance of Palestinian Forces, along with the terrorist group Hamas.

HANDMAID’S TALE AUTHOR DEFINED DECADE, LIB RAG SAYS … "On the Cover of New York Magazine: A Decade in Review," via NY MAG: As the decade comes to a close, New York Magazine’s November 25–December 8, 2019, issue cover story features six conversations about the 2010s with the people who made it (and were made by it), including Ta-Nehisi Coates on "Obama’s decade," Kim Kardashian West on fame, Kevin Systrom on creating Instagram, DeRay Mckesson on Black Lives Matter and racial justice, and Margaret Atwood on our current dystopia. "We wanted to talk to the makers of our current culture, the people who helped define the way we see the world now," New York Magazine features director Genevieve Smith says of the package.

THE ONLY THING BETTER THAN FAKE NEWS? … "Today Was the Day Michael Bloomberg Finally Became a Mainstream Media Tycoon," by WFB’s Andrew Stiles: Bloomberg's choice to not investigate Democrats will align the newsroom's priorities with those of the mainstream networks and publications that, for example, declined to publish negative stories about Democratic donors Harvey Weinstein and Jeffrey Epstein …

It is not yet known if Bloomberg News will seek to emulate CNN's Brian Stelter by devoting more resources to spell-checking Trump's Twitter feed and discussing matters of "truth" and journalistic integrity with disgraced news anchor Dan Rather.
