Orszag: Obama Has ‘Somewhat Less Leverage’ in Next Debt Ceiling Battle

Former Obama Office of Management and Budget director Peter Orszag said Thursday the White House may “win the week, but lose the quarter” in the next round of fiscal negotiations because the administration did not tie the debt ceiling increase to the deal reached this week.

“I think there’s no doubt that they have somewhat less leverage than they did in the round that just completed,” Orszag said in an interview with CNBC.
