RNC Criticizes Democrats for Bob Filner’s War on Women

The Republican National Committee issued a press release criticizing Democrats for their boorish behavior and calling out the media for failing to cover the latest liberal pol facing sexual harassment allegations.

San Diego Mayor and former U.S. Rep. Bob Filner made a public apology on Thursday for his behavior.

Filner allegedly  harassed numerous female employees who were "subjected to 'unfortunate and reprehensible circumstances.'"

Filner said:

As someone who has spent a lifetime fighting for equality for all people, I am embarrassed to admit that I have failed to fully respect the women who work for me and with me, and that at times I have intimidated them. I am also humbled to admit that I need help.

I have begun to work with professionals to make changes in my behavior and approach. In addition, my staff and I will participate in sexual harassment training provided by the city.

Please know that I fully understand that only I am the one who can make these changes. If my behavior doesn't change I cannot succeed in leading our city.

The RNC named Filner’s actions the "latest in the war on women":

But while party leaders are visibly frustrated, Democrat operatives say Filner shouldn’t be discouraged. Even the most disgraced anti-women men in the party that claims to be pro-women eventually reemerge as top recruits in a matter of years. Just look to New York City, they say. Anthony Weiner, the ex-congressman who tweeted himself out of office, revealed his new electoral ambitions and emerged as a leading candidate in the New York Democratic mayoral primary. Then disgraced ex-governor-turned-john Eliot Spitzer decided he too would solicit New Yorkers for their forgiveness and votes.
