Anthony Weiner Wants Huma Abedin to Stay With Him, Call Off Divorce

Sources close to disgraced former Congressman Anthony Weiner say that he hopes his wife, top Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin, will call off their divorce and reconcile the marriage.

After a 35-day stint at a sex rehabilitation program, Weiner does not want his marriage to end, Page Six reported Wednesday night.

Weiner and Abedin have continued to co-parent their five-year-old son, Jordan, while Weiner spends half his time at the couple's apartment and half his time at his mother's house," one source told Page Six.

"Anthony did a month in rehab and is undergoing further outpatient treatment in New York," the source said. "He and Huma continue to co-parent their son. He is spending a lot of time at their apartment, and lives the rest of the time with his mother."

"He knows he's hit rock bottom," another source added. "But now they are both out of the limelight, they can focus on their son. They are actually getting on pretty well, and he and his friends are hoping that they might reconcile."

Other sources told Page Six that a "reconciliation is very unlikely."

In August, Abedin announced that she was leaving her husband after reports surfaced that Weiner sexted another woman with his son lying in bed next to him. Another report soon followed alleging that Weiner carried on a months-long sexting relationship with a 15-year-old girl.

"After long painful consideration and work on my marriage, I have made the decision to separate from my husband," Abedin said at the time. "Anthony and I remain devoted to doing what's best for our son, who is the light of our life. During this difficult time, I ask for respect for our privacy."

Although there have been no official charges filed against Weiner, his lawyers are still negotiating with the U.S. Attorney's Office in Manhattan over allegations that he sexted with a minor.
