Fragments from meteorite in Siberia injure more than 500, primarily from breaking glass

Fragments of a meteorite hit Russia early Friday in western Siberia, injuring more than 500 people, primarily from breaking glass.

The meteorite pieces are believed to be debris from a meteor explosion 20 to 30 miles above the earth’s surface, according to the New York Times.
