Rep. Chris Van Hollen (D., Md.) argued the gun lobby uses "scare tactics" in a Tuesday interview with MSNBC.
"As the president said the other day the Washington based gun lobby uses scare tactics to suggest that even when you want to take a common sense measure, like having a universal background check, that the next step is the the federal government is going to take everyone's guns away," Van Hollen said. "That is just nonsense."
The White House is set to announce President Obama's next steps on gun control Wednesday. Reportedly, the White House has determined up to 19 executive actions that could be put into place on gun control.
