Trump Wants Elizabeth Warren to Run Against Him in 2020

President Donald Trump

President Donald Trump wants Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D., Mass.) to run against him in the 2020 presidential election.

Trump made the comments in an interview on Saturday with Jesse Watters of Fox News, calling the chance to run against the liberal senator "a dream come true," the Washington Examiner reports.

Watters mentioned the potential for Warren challenging Trump in the 2020 election.

"I hope so," Trump said. "That would be a dream come true."

"I think she would lose so badly," the president added.

Trump also said Warren was bad for Hillary Clinton in the finals weeks of the 2016 election.

"I watched that last couple weeks, where she was getting up with that craziness and anger," Trump said. "They are hard. I said, 'She is bad for Hillary.'"

Trump then referenced his designated nickname for Warren while arguing that the senator would not like Clinton as her president.

"Pocahontas would not be proud of her as her representative, believe me," Trump said.

Trump and Warren's feud throughout the 2016 election has carried into Trump's administration. Trump has called Warren "Pocahontas" due to her claim of Native American ancestry when getting a position as a professor, while Warren has gone after Trump for his rhetoric and business practices. Warren also endorsed Clinton, the Democratic candidate, during the 2016 presidential campaign.

Last month, a poll showed that in a hypothetical matchup between Trump and Warren, Trump would be ahead by six percentage points.

According to the Politico/Morning Consult poll, 42 percent of likely voters said they would support Trump compared to 36 percent who would back Warren.
